Fathu Mecca: Lessons from the Conquest of Mecca
For the occurrence of Mecca Fathu
Starting from the peace treaty between the Muslims of Medina to the idolaters of Quraish who signed the memorandum of agreement Shulh Hudaibiyah in 6 AH. Included among the memorandum of agreement is anyone allowed to join one faction, both sides of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam and the Muslims of Medina or Mecca camp of Quraish. So, join in the stronghold of the tribe Khuza’ah Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam and Bakr tribes joined in the camp of Quraish. In fact, once in the time of Ignorance, occurred between two tribal bloodshed and mutual hostility. With the agreement Hudaibiyah, each tribe a ceasefire. However, the cunning, the Bani Bakr use this opportunity to take revenge on the tribe Khuza’ah. Banu Bakr made a surprise raid at night on the Bani Khuza’ah when they’re on their springs. Secretly, the Quraish sent aid personnel and weapons on the Bani Bakr. Finally, some people among the tribes came to the Prophet sallallaahu Khuza’ah ‘alahi wa sallam in Medina. They preach about the treason committed by the Quraish and Banu Bakr.
Feeling that he had violated the agreement, the Quraish had sent Abu Sufyan to Madinah to update the contents of the agreement. Arriving in Medina, he gave a lengthy explanation to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, but he did not respond to him and him also. Finally, Abu Sufyan met Abu Bakr and Umar radliallahu ‘anhuma that they provide help to persuade the Prophet sallallaahu’ alahi wa sallam. But this effort failed. Last time, he met Ali ibn Abi Talib radi ‘anhu to offer help to him in the face of the Prophet sallallaahu’ alahi wa sallam. For the umpteenth time, Ali had refused the request of Abu Sufyan. World feel cramped for Abu Sufyan, he continued pleading to be given a solution. Later, Ali gives advice, “By Allah, I do not know any useful solution for you. However, are you not a leader of the Bani Kinanah? So, rise up and ask for their own protection to the people. Then, go back to your territory. ”
Abu Sufyan said,
“Do you think this will be useful for me?”
“By God, I’m not sure, but I do not have another solution for you.”
Abu Sufyan then stood in the mosque and said,
“O people, I have been given protection by the people!”
Then he mounted his camel and walked away.
Given this betrayal, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam ordered his companions to prepare weapons and war equipment. He invites all the companions to attack Mecca. He says, “O Allah, make the Quraysh did not see and did not hear until I got there all of a sudden.”
In this story there are important lessons to be learned, that the Muslims are allowed to cancel the peace treaty with the infidels. But the cancellation of a peace treaty should be balanced. This means that should not be unilateral, but each side knows the same idea. Allah says,
وإما تخافن من قوم خيانة فانبذ إليهم على سواء إن الله لا يحب الخائنين
“If you’re worried about (the) treachery from any group, then return the treaty to them both know. Allah loves not those who defected. “(Surat al-Anfal: 58)
Acts Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah radi ‘anhu
To maintain the secrecy of this mission, the Prophet sent his army unit as many as 80 people to the settlement between Dzu Khasyab and Dhul-Marwah at the beginning of Ramadan. This he did so it was thought that he was heading to the venue. Meanwhile, there is a shahabat Emigrants, Hatib ibn Abi Balta’ah write a letter to be sent to the Quraysh. The contents of the letter will preach the departure of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam to Mecca to perform a surprise attack. Leave him this letter to a woman with a certain wage and immediately stored in gelungannya. However, the Essence of the All-Seeing God revealed to His Prophet about what Hatib. He was sent-Ali and Al-Miqdad to pursue the woman who brought the letter.
After Ali caught up with the woman, he immediately asked for his letter. However, she lied and said he was not carrying any letter. Ali examining animal mount, but did not get what they need. Ali radi ‘anhu said:
“I swear by Allah, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam did not lie. By Allah, you remove the letter or we will make you naked. ”
After knowing the seriousness Ali radi ‘anhu, women and even then handed a letter to Ali ibn Abi Talib.
Arriving in Medina, Ali was immediately handed the letter to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam. In a letter written the name of Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah. Wisely, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam asked the reason Hatib. Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah replied:
“Do not hurry accusing Messenger of Allah. By Allah, I am someone who believes in Allah and His Messenger. I have no faith and is not changing my religion. Once I was a foster child in the middle of Quraysh. I am nothing to them. There I have a wife and children. While there are no relatives who could protect them. While people with you have a relative who can protect them. Therefore, I wanted someone who could protect my relatives over there. ”
With necessarily Umar ibn al Khattab offered,
“O Messenger of Allah, let me cut his neck, because he has betrayed Allah and His Messenger, and hypocritical.”
Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam replied wisely,
“Verily never joined the battle of Badr Hatib … (Allah says about the forces of Badr): Act as they pleased you, because you have I forgive.”
Omar then later crying, saying, “Allah and His Apostle know better.”
Thus the mean heart Hatib. He hoped that by leaking the secret to attract sympathy Quraysh against him, so they feel indebted to Hatib. With this situation, he hoped the Quraysh would protect his wife and children in Makkah. Nevertheless, this act regarded as a form of treason, and regarded as a form of loyalty to the unbelievers because of the world. About the story Hatib Companions radi ‘anhu is immortalized by God in His Word;
يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تتخذوا عدوي وعدوكم أولياء تلقون إليهم بالمودة وقد كفروا بما جاءكم من الحق يخرجون الرسول وإياكم أن تؤمنوا بالله
“O ye who believe, do not make my enemy and your enemy as a loyal friend that you tell them (the news of Muhammad), for compassion, when in fact they have broken the truth come unto you, they expel the Messenger, and ( drive) because ye believe in Allah …. “(Surat Al Mumtahanah: 1)
One important lesson we can take from the story Hatib ibn Abi Balta’ah radi ‘anhu is that the real people who give loyalty to the infidels to cause danger to Islam, the culprit is not convicted of infidels, as long as this does not lead to love of loyalty because of his religion. In the above verse, Allah refers to people who do this kind of action with a call, “O ye who believe … …” This suggests that their status has not infidels.
Islamic Forces Moving Towards Mecca
Then, he came out of Medina along with ten thousand companions who are ready to war. He gave Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum task to replace his position in Medina. On the way, he met with Abbas, his uncle with his family, which aims to emigrate and convert to Islam. Then, at a place called Abwa ‘, he met with his cousin, Ibn al-Harith and Abdullah ibn Abi Umayyad. When I was a heathen, the two men were among those who are very strong hostility towards the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam. With the softness, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘wa sallam alahi accept their repentance and convert to Islam.
The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said about Ibn al-Harith radi’ anhu, “I hope he can be a substitute Hamzah-radi ‘anhu-‘.
After he arrived at a place called Marra Dhahraan, near Mecca, he ordered the troops to make the torch a number of troops. He also raised Umar radi ‘anhu as a guard.
That night, Abbas went to Mecca with up bighal (Peranakan horses and donkeys) belonging to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam. He is looking for people of Mecca so that they come out to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam and asked for security guarantees, so there is no war in the land of Mecca. Suddenly heard the voice of Abu Sufyan Abbas and Budail bin Zarqa ‘who were talking about a large bonfire.
“What’s wrong with you, O Abbas” asked Abu Sufyan
“That the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam in the midst of people. By God, Evil people of Quraysh. By Allah, if he beat you, he will chop off your neck. Climb to the top of this bighal back, so I can take you to the presence of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, and asked for security guarantees to him! “Said Abbas.
So, Abu Sufyan was rising behind me. We went to the place of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam. When I passed the torch Umar ibn Khattab, he saw Abu Sufyan. He said,
“O Abu Sufyan, the enemy of Allah, praise be to Allah who has subjected you-even without an agreement. Fearing, Abbas bighalnya order to accelerate the pace ahead of Omar. They went directly to where the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam.
After that, then ‘Umar came in, saying, “O Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan this. Let me chop off his neck. ”
Abbas also said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have to protect it.”
Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said, “Go back to your tents, O Abbas! Tomorrow morning, come back here! ”
The next day, along with Abu Sufyan Abbas met the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam. He said, “Woe, O Abu Sufyan, is not the time has come for you to know that there is no god (deity) is right to be worshiped but Allah?”
Abu Sufyan said,
“For my mother and father as your guarantee. Long ago I might have guessed, if no god but Allah, surely I do not need anything after this. ”
The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said, “Woe to you O Abu Sufyan, is not it time for you to admit that I am the Messenger of Allah?”
Abu Sufyan replied, “For my father and mother as your guarantee, if on this issue, in my heart is still there is something to this.”
Abbas interjected, “Woe to you! Come in Islam! Testify laa ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad ur Rasulullah before he cut your throat! ”
Finally, Abu Sufyan, had converted to Islam and give the correct testimony.
On 17 Ramadan 8 AH, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘leave wa sallam alahi Marra Dzahran to Mecca. Before leaving, he ordered them to take Abu Sufyan Abbas towards the pass over the mountain, stay there until all the forces of God passed over there. That way, Abu Sufyan could see all the forces of the Muslims. Abbas and Abu Sufyan then passed several tribes that joined forces joined with the Muslims. Each of these tribes with flags. Every time he passed one clan, Abu Sufyan Abbas always ask, “what the tribes of this?” And each time answered by Abbas, Abu Sufyan always commented, “I have no dealings with the sons of So and so.”
After some distance away from the army, Abu Sufyan noticed a swarm of large forces. He then asked, “Good Heavens, O Abbas, who they are?”
Abbas replied: “That is the Messenger of Allah with muhajirin and Ansar.”
Abu Sufyan muttered, “No-one else able and strong to face them.”
Abbas said: “O Abu Sufyan, was Nubuwah.”
Ansar flag held by Sa’ad bin Ubadah radi ‘anhu. When passing the Abbas and Abu Sufyan, Sa’ad said,
“Today is a day of slaughter. Day dihalalkannya al haram land. Today God humiliating Quraysh. ”
When it met the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, saying Sa’ad is delivered to the Prophet sallallaahu’ alahi wa sallam. He replied,
“Saad was wrong, actually today is the day of the Kaaba and dimuliakannya diagungkannya Quraysh by God.”
Then, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam ordered that flags in the hands of Sa’d was taken and handed over to his son, Qois. However, it turns out that the flag remains in the hands of Sa’d. Some say the flag was handed over to Zubair and plugged in the Hajun.
Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam continued until well into Dzi Thuwa. There, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam bowed his head to the tip of his noble beard almost touched the saddle. It is a form of tawadlu ‘he told the manager universe. Here, too, he divided the troops. Khalid bin Walid was placed on the right wing to enter Mecca from the low-lying and waiting for the arrival of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam at Safa. While Zubair bin Awwam leading left-wing forces, bringing the flag of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam entered Makkah and through the high plains. He was ordered to plant a flag in the area Hajun and did not leave the place until he comes.
Then, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam entered Mecca while his head bowed as he read the word of God:
إنا فتحنا لك فتحا مبينا
“Surely we have given you a real victory.” (Surat al-Fath: 1)
He announced to the inhabitants of Mecca,
“Who came in the mosque so he’s safe, who entered the house of Abu Sufyan then he’s safe, who entered his house and shut the door so he’s safe.”
He continued walking until she reached the Grand Mosque. He thawaf with riding a camel carrying a bow which he used to overthrow the idols around the Kaaba that he passed. At that time, he read God’s word:
جاء الحق وزهق الباطل إن الباطل كان زهوقا
“Truth has come and falsehood has vanished”. Truly a vanity that is something that must disappear. “(Surat al-Isra ‘: 81)
جاء الحق وما يبدئ الباطل وما يعيد
“Truth has come and falsehood will not start and did not (also) be repeated.” (Surat Saba ‘: 49)
Then, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam entered the Kaaba. He saw a picture of Abraham with Ishmael, who was sharing the arrows of divination.
He said, “May Allah destroy them. By Allah, even though Abraham had never gambled with these arrows. ”
Later, he was ordered to remove all the existing images in the Kaaba. Then, he prayed. After the prayer he circled the inner walls of the Kaaba and bertakbir in the corners of the Kaaba. While the Quraysh gathered inside the mosque, waiting for a decision he sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam.
By holding the edge of the door of the Kaaba, he said:
“لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له, له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير, صدق وعده ونصر عبده وهزم الأحزاب وحده
“O people of Quraysh, Allah has removed the arrogance of ignorance and the glorification of ancestors. Humans from Adam and Adam from the ground. ”
يا أيها الناس إنا خلقناكم من ذكر وأنثى وجعلناكم شعوبا وقبائل لتعارفوا إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقاكم إن الله عليم خبير
“O Quraysh, what do you bayangankan about what would I do with you?”
And they answered, “well, as a noble brother, son of a noble brother.”
“I convey to you as the words of Joseph to his brother: ‘On this day there is no slur on you. God forgive you. He is merciful. “You go! Surely you have been free! ”
On the second day, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam berkhutbah in the presence of humans. After reading tahmid he said,
“Allah has forbidden Mecca. So it is not lawful for the people who believe in Allah and the last day to shed blood and broken tree trunk there. If there is a reasonable person with a war that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, then the answer: “Verily, Allah permitted His Messenger sallallaahu’ alahi wa sallam, and not let you. God only allows me a few moments during the day. Today haram Makkah keharamannya has returned as before. So should people who are present convey to the absent. ”
The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam allowed God to fight in Makkah only on the day of the conquest of Mecca city from sunrise until Asr. He stayed in Makkah for nine days with prayer and do not always shorten the remaining days of Ramadan fasting month of Ramadan.
Since then, the land of Mecca to Islam, so that no longer migrated from Mecca to Medina.
Thus a very real victory for the Muslims. It has been perfect God’s help. Arab tribes converted to Islam in droves. Thus the great gift that God gives.
