Virtue Reading Shalawat

From Anas ibn Malik radi ‘anhu, he said that the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam said,

من صلى علي صلاة واحدة, صلى الله عليه عشر صلوات, وحطت عنه عشر خطيات, ورفعت له عشر درجات

“Anyone who recites blessings on me one time, God will shalawat for him ten times, and aborted ten mistakes (sins) it, and exalted him ten degrees / levels (in heaven someday)” [1].

The great Hadith shows bershalawat primacy to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and multiply blessings on the recommendation [2], because this is the reason the decline of grace, forgiveness and reward from Allah Ta’ala multiplied [3].

Some important faidah contained in this hadith:

– Many shalawat to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam is the sign of the love of a Muslim to his sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam [4], because the scholars said: “Whoever loves something, he would often call it” [5].

– What is meant by blessings on here is shalawat taught by the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam in the hadiths he sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam a saheeh (which is read by Muslims in their prayers when tasyahhud), not-shalawat shalawat bid ‘ ah that was held-held by those who came later, as shalawat nariyah, Badriyah, litany and-blessings on blessings on the other heretical. Because shalawat is worship, then it must be sincere acceptance of the terms for God Almighty alone and in accordance with the guidance of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam [6]. Also because when the Companions radi ‘anhum asked him sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam, “(O Prophet), we really have to know how to say hello to you, then how do we pronounce blessings on thee?” Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied: ” Say: O Allah, bershalawatlah to the (Prophet) Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and his family … etc. as shalawat in tasyahhud [7].

– The meaning of blessings on the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam is to ask Allah Ta’ala for His praise and exalt him sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam in the world and the hereafter, in the world to glorify the mention of (name), he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, won a religion and establish Islamic law which he brought. And in the hereafter with double the reward which he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, facilitate syafa’at he appeared to his people and his virtues on the Day of Judgement in front of all creatures [8].

– The meaning of God’s blessings on Ta’ala to His servant is an abundance of grace, forgiveness, praise, kemualian and blessings from Him [9]. There is also a mean to taufik of Allah Ta’ala to issue his servant from the darkness (error) into the light (His guidance), as in his words,

{هو الذي يصلي عليكم وملائكته ليخرجكم من الظلمات إلى النور وكان بالمؤمنين رحيما}

“He bershalawat thee (O man) and his angels (to beg forgiveness for you), so that He brought you from darkness to light (the light). And it is He is Merciful to those who believe “(Surah al-Ahzaab: 43).
