Virtue Ridho To Allah, the Messenger and Islam

ridhaOf ‘Abbas ibn’ Abd al-Muttalib radi ‘anhu, that he had heard the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam said,

((ذاق طعم الإيمان من رضي بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد رسولا)

“It felt a delicacy / sweetness of faith, the person the pleasure of Allah as his Lord and Islam as a religion as well as (the prophet) Muhammad as his messenger” [1].

This noble Hadith which shows the magnitude of the primacy of the pleasure of Allah Almighty, His Prophet and the religion of Islam, even this trait is a sign of true and perfect faith in a person [2].

Imam an-Nawawi – may Allaah have mercy – when explaining the meaning of this hadith, he said: “People who do not want other than (pleasure) of Allah Ta’ala, and not taking the path of religion other than Islam, and do not worship except with what in accordance with Shari’a (carried by) the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, is no doubt that anyone who has this trait, then the sweetness of faith will undoubtedly enter into his heart so he could feel the sweetness and delicacy that faith (obviously) ” [3].

Some important faidah contained in this hadith:

– Meaning of “pleasure of the thing” is to feel pretty and satisfied with it, and do not want in others “[4].

– Meaning of “perceived delicacy / sweetness of faith” is to feel pleasure when doing worship and obedience to Allah Ta’ala, be patient in facing difficulties in (seeking) the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala and His Messenger sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, and put all of that above the mundane replies, along with the love of Allah and His Messenger, by doing (all) His commands and stay away from his ban [5].

– Meaning “the pleasure of Allah Almighty as the Lord” is a pleasure to all His commandments and prohibitions, to the provisions and his choice, and to what is given and prevented him. This is the requirement to achieve a level of pleasure in Him as your Lord fully and completely [6].

– Meaning “pleasure to Islam as a religion” is enough with the practice of Islamic law and will not turn kapada than Islam. Similarly, “the pleasure of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam as the apostle” means suffice himself only by following the instructions and the Sunnah Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam in worship and draw closer to God, and no more than a hint and Sunnah, he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam [7].

– The nature of this noble owned by the companions of the Prophet, the best people of this generation, that all that they accomplished with taufik of Allah Ta’ala, then due diligence and zeal in performing their worship and obedience to Allah Ta’ala. As in his word,

{ولكن الله حبب إليكم الأيمان وزينه في قلوبكم وكره إليكم الكفر والفسوق والعصيان أولئك هم الراشدون}

“But God made you all (oh the friends) love to faith and faith to make it beautiful in your heart and make you hate to disbelief, wickedness and immoral deeds. They are the ones who follow the straight path “(Surah al-Hujuraat: 7).

Also mentioned in the hadeeth: “Indeed they do, (the state) when the sweetness of faith / delicacy that faith has come in and blends into the human heart (the Companions radi ‘anhum)” [8].
