Prophet Zakaria And Yahya (John) As
The years had left their mark on Zakariyah Prophet (peace be upon him). He was now old and bent with age, in his nineties. Despite his weakness, he went to the temple every day to deliver his sermons.
Zakariyah was not a rich man, but he was always ready to help those in need. Its a disappointment in life was that she had no children, his wife was barren. This worried him, because he feared there was no one after him to do his job. The people needed a strong leader, because they were left to themselves, they would move away from the teachings of Allah and the Holy change the laws to suit themselves.
During one of his visits to the temple, went to check on Mary, who lived in a secluded room of the temple. He was surprised to find fresh seasonal fruit in his room. Besides him, no one had access to his room. When asked, he said that the fruit was from Allah. He found every morning. But because he was so surprised, she asked. He did not know that Allah provides without measure to those who want to?
This noble girl had opened my eyes to this amazing idea. He could not ask his Lord to bless him with a son in his old age? Even if his wife had passed childbearing age, nothing was impossible for the Lord God!
Allah revealed: ‘Kaf, Ha, Ya, Ain, Sad (The letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah knows their meaning). This is a mention of the Mercy from thy Lord to His servant Zakariyah. When he called his Lord (Allah) – a call in secret, saying: “My Lord because my bones have grown feeble, and gray hair has spread on my head, and have never been unblest in my invocation to You, Oh, Verily my Lord, and I fear my relatives after me, because my wife is barren Then you give me an heir, -!. I inherit and those who inherit the descendants of Jacob (heritage of religious knowledge and Prophethood, not wealth, etc.) and make him, my Lord, the one you are happy! ”
Allah said: “O Zakariyah Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, his name will be Yahya (John) we gave this name to none before him !…”
He said: “My Lord, How can I have a son when my wife is barren, and I reached the extreme old age.”
He said: “So (it will) the Lord says: It ‘easy for me to be sure that I created earlier, when he was nothing …”
Zakariyah said: “My Lord, appoint for me a sign.”
He said: “Your sign is that you should not talk to people for three nights, although no defect in the body.”
Then he came out of his people from the mihrab (a place that prays or a private room, etc.), he told them by signs to glorify Allah’s praises in the morning and afternoon.
He told his son: “O John Hold fast to the Scriptures (the Torah).” And We gave him wisdom while yet a child, and made him sympathetic to men as a mercy or a scholarship from Us, and pure from sins (John) and it was just, and dutiful to their parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or his parents). And Salamun (peace) on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day will be resurrected to new life! (Ch 19:1-15 Quran)
Almighty Allah also said: At that time Zakariyah invoked his Lord, saying. “O my Lord, Grant me from you, a good son, You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation.”
Then the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in Al-Mihrab (a praying place or private room), saying: “Allah gives you glad tidings of John, confirming (believing in) the Word of Allah (” Be “! – and he was (ie the creation of Isa (Jesus), son of Mariam (Mary), noble, keeping away from sexual relations with women, a prophet among the righteous!”.
He said: “O my Lord How can I have a son when I am very old, and my wife is barren?”
Allah said: “Thus Allah does what he wants.” He said: “O my Lord Make a sign for me.” Allah said: “Your sign is that you should not speak to mankind for three days except with signals And remember your Lord much (by praising Him again and again), and glorify him in the afternoon and the morning ..” (Ch 3:38-41 Quran).
John (peace be upon him) was born a stranger to the world of children who used to have fun, like he was serious all the time. Most of the children amused themselves by torturing animals, has been merciful to them. He fed his food from animals until there was nothing for him, and he just ate fruit or leaves of trees.
John loved to read since childhood. Once grown, Allah the Almighty said to him: “O John Hold fast to the scriptures (the Torah).” And We gave him wisdom while yet a child. (Qur’an Ch 19:12).
Allah guided him to read the Book of Law in close contact, thus, has become the wisest and most learned of that time. Therefore, Allah the Almighty has the power to make judgments on the affairs of the people, interpreting the secrets of religion, guiding people to the right path, and warning them against the wrong one.
John reached maturity. His compassion for his parents, as well as for all peoples and all creatures, has increased considerably. He called people to repent of their sins.
There are a number of traditions told John. Ibn Asaker said that once her parents were looking for him and found him in the Jordan River. When they met him, wept sorely, seeing his great devotion to Allah, the great and majestic.
Ibn Wahb said that, according to Malik, the grass was the food of John Ibn Zakariyah, and wept bitterly in the fear of Allah. A chain of narrators reported that Idris Al Khawlawi said: “Shall I not tell him who had the best food is John Ibn Zakariyah, who joined the beasts at dinner, afraid to mix with men?”.
Ibn Mubarak said Wahb Ibn al-Ward said that Zakariayah has not seen his son for three days. She found him crying in a pit he had dug and in which he lived. “My son, I searched for you, weep and you stay in this grave!” “O father, did not you say that between Heaven and Hell is only a span, and will not be crossed except by tears of Weepers?” He told him: “Weep then, my son.” Then they cried together.
Other stories say that John (pbuh) has said. “The inhabitants of Paradise are sleepless out the sweetness of the grace of Allah, so the faithful must be sleepless for the sake of Allah in their hearts that measure between the two luxuries, and among them?”
It is said that John cried so much that the tears marked his cheeks. He found solace in the open and never cared about food. He ate leaves, herbs, and sometimes locusts. He slept anywhere in the mountains or in holes in the ground. Sometimes he would find a lion or a bear as he entered a cave, but being deeply absorbed in praising Allah, not listened to them. The beasts easily recognized John as a prophet who took care of all creatures, so they left the cave, bowing his head.
John sometimes fed those beasts, out of mercy, of his food and made do with prayer as food for the soul. He spent the night crying and praising God for His blessings.
When John called to worship God, made them cry of love and submission, by stopping their hearts with the truth of his words.
A conflict took place between John and the authorities at that time. A tyrant king, Herod Antipas, the governor of Palestine, was in love with Salome, the daughter of his brother. That he intended to marry his beautiful niece. The marriage was encouraged by his mother and some of the learned men of Zion, or fear, or to gain favor with the ruler.
Upon hearing the plan of the governor, John pronounced that such a marriage would be incestuous. He does not approve under any circumstances, as it was against the law of the Torah.
John’s pronouncement spread like wildfire. Salome was angry, because it was his ambition to rule the kingdom with her uncle. Traced to achieve his goal. Dressing attractive, sang and danced before her uncle. Its arousing lust of Herod. Embrace it, he offered to make anything he wishes. Just said hi: “I wish I had the head of John, because he has desecrated your honor and mine all over the country If you grant me this wish, I’ll be very happy and I offer myself to you ..” Bewitched by his charm, his request submitted to the monstrous. John was executed and his head was brought to Salome. The cruel woman gloated with delight. But the death of beloved prophet of Allah has been avenged. Not only her, but all the children of Israel were severely punished by the armies of invaders who have destroyed their kingdom.
